The first day of school!

Everything went well. We got up and got ready even got a few pictures before we left the house. I was able to walk the little ones into their classes and give them one last hug.

I am happy they are in a great school

They have good teachers and the staff there are so caring and take great care of each child.

Coming home to an empty house after having a full house all summer takes some getting used to.

Thankfully I am not completely alone. I have a faithful companion, my Dog.

But, I sure did spend the 1st day curled up on my bed with my dog missing my kids.

Cookies and Milk

because I feel a little lost without my kids around I am finding a little comfort in my cookies and milk.

I know that I am more than just my kids’ mom. But, I do so much for them and have spent so much time with them that I feel a little lost without them. Even if it is just for a few hours a day.

As I shared this thought with a few friends this morning…

I had a whisper speak to my heart “you are their mom but that is not your identity. Your identity is so much more… you are a daughter of the King”.

Everything in this life can change in a moment.
The rolls I play; wife, mother, sister, daughter.

It can all change in a moment.

But, my identity… as a daughter of the King, this will never change. I will be in heaven with my Father for eternity.

I’m still a little lost without my kids around the house today.

Cookies will help.

But because HE is
She is (I am) strong, fearless, redeemed, changed, loved

I am a daughter of the King!!!!

See what great love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! ~1 John 3:1a

Afternoon came and it was time to pick kids up from their 1st day at school. This mama was happy to have her kids back.

We celebrated the 1st day with Sonic drinks!

Thank you, Father, for all that you provided. Thank you for your loving comfort as school starts back up and things change a little bit. Thank you that you are my caring Father at I can come to and tell you “today I miss my kids, today I feel a little lost without them around”. Thank you for reminding me that though being a mom is one of the most important things in my life my identity is found in You and that will never change. Thank you for the blessing of being a mother and the privilege of being called your Daughter.

~In Jesus name, Amen
